Merchant Archive AW16
The Merchant Archive AW16 collection as ever looks back to the archive revolving and reforming to create a collection of our time yet timeless. In addition this season we take inspiration from the British Artist Laurence Stephen Lowry.
Lowry is famous for painting scenes depicting the struggle of life in the industrial cities on the North of England. In particular Lowry’s palette, which was limited to five colours. Prussian Blue, Vermillion, Yellow Ochre, Flake White and Ivory Black, has been a great source of inspiration. The collection is constructed using finest French silks, lace and jacquards, British wools and Italian crepe and Gazaar.
The Merchant Archive woman knows herself, loves detail and simplicity in equal measures. This is a collection for women who love design in every aspect, in their life and home as well as their clothes, they want to buy a piece to keep, wear, love and to hand down. This isn’t fast fashion.
